The Upanishads

This reading was very different than many other reading that one would get in school. And in that case i really enjoyed it. It really made me think about everything i think of, If that makes any sense. The quote "When you see that god acts through you at every moment, in every movement of the mind or body, you attain true freedom. Even though i doubt that this read is life changing i think that i will maybe look at life differently.

Chief Seattle

I liked the way that chief spoke of his religion and the way that is was compared to the white mans, he made a good point about the way the both came about, the white mans was told the them by an angry god so that it would not be forgotten while there religion is not something they would read or study but a way of life that has been passed down from there forefathers. i also appreciated his search for peace, rather than confrontation with the white man he would rather just go to the reservations that were offered to them.

Sa-go-ye-wat-ha

I enjoyed the way that sa-go-ye-wat-ha spoke of the earth, he spoke of it as a living being rather than just solid ground to live on. He spoke of peace and and prosperity "If we had any disputes about hunting grounds, they were settled without spilling much blood".  I enjoyed when he questioned the white  mans practice of religion, they were trying to push this religion on the red man by saying this is what religion is, yet they all would not agree on it. why would this one and only one religion lead to quarrels. i also liked that sa-go did no just accept this foreign religion cause it was something new, he stood for what he believed in.
